Transparency note

This is an independently written launch workflow, not a record of a live Hostinger installation or provider benchmark.

Start with the one action you want visitors to take

Before choosing a platform, write one sentence that defines who the website serves and the action visitors should complete: contact you, book, read, shop or join a mailing list. List only the essential pages and functions needed to achieve that outcome. A local service company may begin with Home, Services, About and Contact; a shop must also plan products, payments, shipping and refunds.

Choose between hosted builders, WordPress and code

A visual website builder reduces initial technical setup and may offer AI-assisted drafting, but review export, integration and pricing limitations. WordPress offers a large CMS ecosystem but requires hosting and maintenance decisions. A developer-built static site gives code-level control; tools such as Cloudflare Pages or Vercel can deploy from a repository but are not direct replacements for a drag-and-drop editor.

Estimate the real budget for the first year and renewal

Separate one-time design work from recurring hosting, domain registration, domain renewal, mailboxes, paid themes, plugins, backups and taxes. Hosting promotions can show a monthly equivalent while requiring a long commitment paid upfront. Make a simple two-year cost table for the exact plan, currency and region, and verify every figure at provider checkout.

Connect your domain without disrupting mail

Identify your active DNS provider before changing records. Website A, AAAA or CNAME records serve a different role from MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for email. Preserve validated mail records, document previous values and plan a rollback. Allow for DNS caching and verify both www and apex addresses with HTTPS.

Design clear pages and navigation

Write your homepage headline to state the product or service explicitly. Use one main H1, descriptive section headings, a simple navigation menu, accessible contrast and consistent buttons. Make the primary next action clear. Mobile testing matters because visitors may never use a desktop.

Publish a minimum useful version

Before announcing launch, test forms, links, page titles, HTTPS, a working contact method, keyboard navigation, media loading, privacy disclosures and search indexing settings. Submit the actual sitemap and monitor Search Console after the site is intentionally made public; indexing and rankings are never guaranteed.
